3-Sided Electric Fireplaces

Picking a 3 sided electric fireplace

What is a three sided electric fireplace?

A three sided electric fireplace has glass on the front and both end panels, so you can see the flames from the front and from either side. It usually goes into a bump-out, a peninsula wall or the end of a room divider.

Most models here are Amantii TRV units: the TRV Bespoke line from 45 to 85 inches, TRV Slim, Tru-View XL, the taller TRV XT XL up to 88 inches and the TRV Signature models. Amantii also offers the LumaForest LF48 and LF63, the MultiView Holo 55 and 75, and the CUBE, a freestanding three-sided unit. Remii's Bay Slim series runs from 30 to 72 inches.

What size 3 sided electric fireplace should I choose?

Start with the wall or bump-out you plan to build. Built-in widths here run from 30 to 88 inches, and the number in a model name is nominal, so frame to the rough opening in the manual rather than the name. Heat output is about 5,000 BTU on most TRV models, while the LumaForest units list up to 10,000 BTU.

Is a 3 sided fireplace the same as a see-through model?

No. A see-through fireplace shows the fire from two opposite rooms. A three-sided unit keeps a solid back and opens to the front and sides, so it suits one large space. Plan the framing so both side panels stay visible once the wall is finished.
